. As with the Xbox the launch line up is adequate, with only one game StarWars Rougue Leader showing off the true power of the GameCube , the force has never felt so real! One thing that really sets the GameCube apart from the Xbox is its superb conroller, imagine the best parts of the N64 and Playstation controller rolled into one and your getting a good idea of what this pad is like. This pad is the bees knees, and I’m sure it will result in many opting to buy a GameCube rather than an Xbox, the rumble feature is also spot on and is well utilized in games such as Luigis Mansion.
Luckily for Nintendo they seem to be in a similar situation to Microsoft, that is lots of preorders and not enough GameCube’s to meet the demand.
With the GameCube $100 cheaper in the US than the Xbox perhaps it will sell better this Christmas than Microsoft’s machine. After all America is in recession and money is tighter than my wallet, only time will tell! Needless to say I’ll be here tomorrow telling you how the GameCube launch goes off here in the USA. Perhaps I can even get an impression on who’s buying the GameCube, and more precisely if its for them or their children. I may even get to play more games too, if I’m lucky ! :-)
The Xbox will be getting a steadier flow from now with 100,000 arriving every fortnight or something.
Both consoles are still hard to find here but you can now get them in some shops. There seem to be more GameCubes than Xboxs available but that may just mean that Nintendo have done a better job at supplying stores than Microsoft. :-)
I know they've got, like, Mario and all that, but still... from a console point of view, they have a lot to prove.
You watch the Gamecube fly - oh yes it will!
What this means is that ultimately
> the battle this year will be won by the company that can supply the most
> consoles to the masses. On this basis I would say that Nintendo should do well
So Sony, having sold 20 million PS2s worldwide are absolutely outstanding then???????
:D
The good news from Nintendos point of view is that yes they have games available for the system, I counted 10 in all at this particular retailer which is great for a launch and comparable with the Xbox. Nintendo also seem to have done a better job than Microsoft on the peripheral supply front.
What this means is that ultimately the battle this year will be won by the company that can supply the most consoles to the masses. On this basis I would say that Nintendo should do well after all theyre launching later than the Xbox in the US, but have the experience of a Japanese GameCube launch well behind them.
Anyway Im off to Wallmart to play StarWars Rougue Leader :-)
