I used to live in a really nice housing area where my family owned the home, I went to a good school etc but about 5 years ago my parents moved into a bigger, nicer home in a bigger, nicer area. This all sounds great no? The only problem is that it changed my school catchment area. I had to change the High School I was going to go to and now I go to a school thats main caption area is full of people the exact opposite of me. I was going to go to the best state school in my city but now I go to a mundane one full with people that are completely different from me. They drink, start fights, have records with the police, go out to clubs where the smoke and drink again, they skive school and even when they are there they don't make any effort in class. Although there are a lot of good pupils however I would say for every good pupil there are four or five of these "Chavs" as we call them up here. How, does the gaming industry expect to appeal to such a market? I know they have got people like me who buy the games but how can they compete with the "thrills" of fighting, smoking, drinking etc underage?

So they're stealing cars and killing people and listening to 80s music, shooting hordes of ninjas and doing fatalaties?

This is a dumb post, it's clear how gaming appeals to 'yoofs'.

True there are those appeals but when they spend all their money on the real things they can't afford the games most of the time and the rest of the time they are swearing, fighting and out on the town. The games industry are going to have to work pretty hard to make them see that it is more beneficial to spend there money on gaming material instead however if they do manage it would boost sales tremendously.

I heard Microsoft were bringing out a clubbing simulation. You walk round town and do stuff. Pick fights, buy drinks, go into clubs, use the dancemat when you walk into clubs, play pool and darts at the pub, chat up ladies. I heard theres some mini-games too. Lots of new peripherals like a beer can, pool cue, boxing gloves etc.

Yeah, and I might be lying.

GTA. The appeal of doing everything and not facing any consequences.

Fighting games - it's like fighting.

Lightgun games - like shooting.
