As i tore open my Computer and video games this morning i quickly ran to the Shenmue II Review of half a page. Then checking back slowly through the magazine i got to page 36 and 37, where a heading lay of "Meet Raiden: The New Snake". Intriguied, i read the article, some of you who loved snake may want to look away because the biggest cover-up in videogame history.

"Every screenshot you've drooled over, paragraph you've read about MGS2 up 'til now has been a carefully orchestrated ploy to hide one of the most shocking surprises in videogame history. So here it is: Snake isn't the main character in MGS2, and you play most of the game as an all new member of Fox Hound!"

(SPOILER ALERT)

The adventure starts where the demo began, having you sneak through the tanker level as snake. And after you've fought and defeated Olga there's still an hour of action aboard the ship. You're thrown into nerve-twitchingly intense gunfights in tight, dimly-lit corridors, using a digital camera to secretly snap metal gear ray within a strict time limit, forced to disable a series of heavy explosives, and avoiding detection beneath deck in a room packed with blood-thirsty marines.

At the end of the stage Revolver Ocelot hijacks Metal Gear Ray and bursts out of the hull sinking the ship and killing Solid Snake in the process. Is snake really dead and swimming with the fishes? Why did Ocelot steal Metal Gear RAy? What's going on? In fact, the tanker stage is an event that took place two years ago in the MGS2 storyline, and merely acts as an opening chapter to the really meaty adventure that lies ahead. So wave goodbye to Solid Snake, and say hello to MGS2's new hero...Raiden."

I think you will now tell everyone about this but first of all go out and buy C&VG on 23 Nov (i don't work for them though).

Thank you for your time.

As well as having to play as newbie Raiden, there's also an 'experience' system, like in RPGs, where aiming accuracy and damage inflicted is dependant on levelling up Raiden's skills as you go. There's also the highly contentious random battle generator which has been worked into the game, not to mention that the remainder of the action after the tanker episode is done in cel-shaded animation style, a bit like the new Zelda episode for the gamecube, which will have a lot of die-hard MGS fans in tears.

Did I mention the mini-games yet where you have to collect as many apples as you can within a time limit before the worms eat them all?

if u already looked around this site you will have noticed that it has already had an article on that. But the game must be massive because weve already seen a big part played by snake and if raiden plays an even bigger part then the game will be massive!
