In the red corner...
Manic Street Preachers - Forever Delayed
The Manics have had maybe 6? *shrugs* albums, come from Wales and their lead man Richy went missing some time just before recording the Everything Must Go album. After the last of the songs written by creative leader Richy (the Everything Must Go album) the band's songs lost their political edge and became rather more watered down and formulaic, while the Manics went on to find new levels of popular acclaim. Go figure.
In the blue corner...
Ash - Intergalactic Sonic 7"s
Across 3 albums Ash have seen it all, leaping to instant success with 1977, being really, really terrible during their Nu-Clear Sounds slump before rising like a pheonix from Ireland to impose their own brand of 'shock and awe' on all their critics with the multi-lots selling Free All Angels. The best of album may seem a little premature, but they've had pleanty of cracking hits, and if the one good - one bad album pattern would have continued, nobody wanted to hear a fourth.
Round One: Tracks
Manics - 20
Ash - 19
Manics sneak a lead, 1-0
Round 2: Great Tracks
Manics - Motorcycle Emptyness, Everything Must Go, Australia, The Everlasting
Ash - Burn Babay Burn, Girl from Mars, Sometimes, Angel Interceptor, Petrol
Most important round counts for double, and Ash leap ahead 2-1
Round 3: Terrible Tracks
Manics - You Love Us
Ash - Candy, Numbskull
Manics draw level despite Ash getting off lightly over the whole Nu-Clear debacle, 2-2
Round 4: Bonus CD
Manics - Remixes *Yawn* Despite the likes of the Chemical Brothers, Avalanches, Massive Attack and Ian Brown on the role of honour, it's still remixes. You can't polish a terd.
Ash - B-Sides, many of which rock
And the winner is...
Ash kick the Manics' lazy ashes out of the water in the final round, to clinch victory, 3-2.
Coming soon: Next time I lose interest in my work, you can expect to see the ELO Vs LFO (relegation battle?), and the Meatloaf derby, Bat Out of Hell Vs Bat Out of Hell II
I sat on their tour bus once. It was cool.
That bonus CD is great.
Looks for a real Irish man...

It's Tim Wheeler..
Class band, oh - and does anyone notice the Ash references in Vice City?

Realising Tim Weaver must have been about 2 when I was born... happens from about '97 on though - wee ceremony overseen by Eamon Holmes, Paddy Kielty when Eamon is on holiday.

Yep, too scared to leave.
No, don't use the music forum, so I can't see the point of posting there, and it's nice to have something non-gaming in here every now and then...

WHAT!?!?!? You Love Us is an amazing track! And how did Faster now get in their great tracks section? As a N. Irish kid who's seen Ash live a million and one times (we get a copy of their albums at birth, just before the cord is cut) I can't really be subjective about them.
Why the Nintendo forum?
