Those of you who can't be arsed to view the link, basically some people on the internet are creating an online petition to prevent paris hilton from going to prison. Under the grounds of...wait for it:
she enlivens "mundane" lives
IT GETS BETTER!
The petition paints Ms Hilton as a role model who "provides hope for young people all over the US and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives".
I never knew people thought of her as a role model. Meh, i suppose in america some girls want to be rich s***s or men wanting their girl friends to be like her. What makes the whole arguement even more funny is that the petition makes comparisons with other more powerful well known people. Like richard nixon. I suppose the idea is "Paris hilton is being punished for less compared to other people like, say richard nixon who caused a massive scandel and made america look stupid"
Personally this is pathetic, look, making her go to jail would be good for her. She can do some honest work in her life and live life as a commoner or the opposite specturm of life: Crooks and scum.
Come on, just throw her into jail making her suffer would be priceless. She could tape it and distribute her "harrowing" story behind bars. Maybe they should make a reality tv show where people are locked up in prison to win. Oh wait, thats big brother. Still its more then likely she'll end up on some stupid big brother style show, going to prison would be great practice.
> Surely if she's a role model she should not be let off, people
> need to see that breaking the law is wrong and there are
> consequences!
agreed. We should also expose the dirty dealings of famous people as they are famous and people look up to them and we have the right to know.
Its a defence news papers frequently employ especially if its libel or slander.
They said, in The Star, that presumably she didn't know that a driving ban meant she couldn't srive.
Oh dear oh dear oh dear.
