Never mind.
Today i pre-ordered my gamecube from sr.
Like many other nintys, i'd considered importing, but the hassle is something i could really do without. The x-box was never really a contender, ps2... no thanks, as with the ps1, i don't see enough quality titles there, while there is already a stack of gc games i can't wait to get playing.
The only problems were the wait, but it can't be helped i guess, and the uncertainty about the price. The estimate at 200, although higher than the americans will pay, seems acceptable, but i can't afford much more without having some problems. When i get to thinking about it like that it doesn't seem like such a good idea, but the hurry to get a release date title rushed me into making a decision, and i figure that as we're already being overcharged with the 200 pound estimate, it sounldn't get higher than that. Surely nintendo won't disrespect us that much?
The only real worry now is that if enough people have pre-ordered, and sr don't get enough machines in for launch day, the whole thing will have been a waste of time.
Ah well, it was a gamble, but i guess it's down to crossed fingers for more news.
In the mean time, the only 'news' nintendo reel out to us that i'll be interested in is date, price, and titles. It's out of my hands.
