"The SD Memory Card has finally been given a date, after being announced since the GameCube itself.
Nintendo's Japanese website has provided a release date for this accessory, it is July 18th. The adaptor however has been redesigned so the cards are inserted from the side, making it easier to remove them."
"SD Memory Cards are only postage stamp sized and are often used in digital products such as Digital Cameras. They come in many sizes such as 16MB, 64MB and 128MB and can be found in many electronic stores. They vary in prices from around £20(€30) up to £40(€60) depending where you purchase the card from."
"The GameCube has a limit on how many save files/blocks you can create and it is unknown whether this product will suffer from this at this time."
"The SD Memory Card can be plugged into a PC allowing people to send game data to each other or download special events, possibly used in Phantasy Star Online. The first announced product will be Animal Crossing e+ which will allow users to email data to each other and also take pictures with their PC"

Great news, isn't it? (I'm sure Dr.Duck will be happy!)
Could this one-day signal the end for Nintendo's-own 4-and-16mb memory cards?!?
And will Animal Crossing ever 'NEED' to go on-line in the future with technology like this available?? Think about the possible interactiveness...!
Imagine the number of things you'd be able to download from your PC, to update your GameCube games... - very-handy for football and sports game!
Perhaps you could even get secret items and levels downloads for games like Mario and Zelda?
Who knows...!
This is an exciting age we live in! :)
Excellent
I may be off the mark here, but I expect this to roughly coincide with a step-up in the cube's online.. stuff.
Just hope the pc adaptor won't be too expensive.
Shouldn't be too-much of a problem, in most cases, with all the "mutli-region" stuff, and that.
Thats the only worry.
