I'm honestly very surprised, that's not my experience at all, I've been using the Rathbone Place store for close to ten years.
They've always been very knowledgable and honest with me (including talking me out of buying bad games!).
They're now based down the road at ::
New Age Consoles Ltd. Main MegaStore Address Unit 1117 Whitgift Center Croydon Surrey - Open 7 Days a week - TEL: 0208 686 1680
At least I think that's the actua shop.
As for Computer Exchange, the only 'knowledgable' staffies are those in the Rathbone Place Retro department. As a whole, I hate CEX now. I bought my mouse from the Hounslow store last week. The staffies were very unhelpful and the product doesn't work. I've now had two rows with the manager and my mum has had one.
Just checked, New Age Consoles do sell Retro stuff. You can find them online at the address below, or you can find their rather small store in East Croydon.

Back to CEX. I've now got to spend an hour on a bus getting to Hounslow, just to change my bloody mouse. And then, chances are they won't give me a refund. Then I have another hour on the cramped bus home! So, if you buy with CEX, make sure you know your rights and be prepared for the product not to work.
amazing archive of practically every arcade machine ever made.
Computer Exchange www.cex.com (shops are better than site), very good retro stock and knowledgeable service.
