I need a faster connection at home than my 56k, but there's not a CHANCE of cable or ASDL. So... any suggestions for fast yet not-too-pricey connections? Anyone? PLEASE! I NEED SPEED!!!

Bonus, just playing with the options but, would a fine fellow oVer like you (:D) refer me to Blueyonder if I asked?? you get a months free cable and I get £25 off my installation :)

Because you have to send all data upstream via your normal modem, so you pay for 2 connections and only really benefit when downloading large files - games are no more playable, and web browsing still suffers.

Why not just buy the Hauppage satelite reciever card which allows you access to downloads via your existing satelite dish??

Your options are:

ADSL if you can get it
Cable modem NTL/BY if you can get it

or wait for bt's satelite connection to be launched. Its about 60-70 quid a month but costs around 800 to install!!

Theres program on the net which speed up access somehow, I tried one a while back, a 30-tril one, but it made my internet speed faster for a while ... can't remember the name of the program though, soz.

A search on Yahoo found it for me though...
