The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
In a last ditch attempt to save the GIARGF from a horrifyingly slow death from n00bs, I have decided to create this thread.
In effect, a 'longest thread' attempt, this is where you just talk random stuff (No spam, though- newbies take note).
So why have I done this?
This forum is getting as little as, er, no posts a day. If you use this thread as I have intended, we would be getting 4,5,6 or even 7,8,9 or 10 posts a day in here, as well as in the other topics that occupy this place. People will see the forum higher up the list, obviously showing it to be more popular, making people want to come here and therefore re-populating this almost empty forum.
I do, of course, expect this to fail miserably, but at least you can't say I never tried.

Right, I'm going to need a question to start us off;
"Are retro games better than modern day games, or are they simply too primitive to cut it any more?"
One word: DOOM
That was brilliant, though, but I was disappointed by the lack of Doom (As in the game) when the SNES lot were lucky enough to get it.
But the MK games were brilliant.
And Zero Wing.
And Ranger X.
And Super Fantasy Zone.
And Vectorman.
And *continues forever*
I used to like those text adventires, especially sorcerer's castle. And then their was school daze, that rocked. I also used to like the sports managment games. I had a horse racing manger one that I lost a good chunk of my life to.

New question:
"What is the greatest retro console ever made and why?"
I spent an hour playing Manic Miner over the weekend, what a great game, simple idea, simple graphics but brilliant gameplay and that "one more go" feeling.
