they were both made by Sid Meier yes?

So can someone explain the blurb for this product and convince me I'm not insane:

I'll be different and say I always preferred Master of Magic to Civ. :)
What I wouldn't give for an updated version of that game.

Civ 1 was brilliant.

I played that when I had no clue what to do. Obviously.

I covered the map in militia. Haha.

Then I got trounced.

Civ 2, if you can find it with the Forgotten Worlds of whatever its called, and the Historical Scenarios, is a fantastic purchase.

Oh and I have a Civ 2 scenario problem. I try to open up scenatios in the 'Begin scneario' thing, and as they are downloaded it says 'error. cannot load file as it is not a saved game'.

Meh?

Civ 2 is good, but Civ 3 is better. I've spent ages playing that game before now. Along with Master Of Orion and UFO: Enemy Uknown, it goes down as one of the best strategy games ever devised.

I do indeed have it, but I haven't (yet) got over the sci-fi stuff.

Give me 2 transports full of Armour and Howitzers, 3 AEGIS cruisers, a carrier or two full of Stealth aircraft, and a continent to conquer.

Today I crushed the French, who covered most of northern Asia.

Obliterated does not describe it.

I took about 30 cities, they have about 10 left. While winning another war on my own doorstep over in Canada/Alaska.

Genius (the game that is)

:)

If you havnt already (and you probably have) you should pick up Alpha Centuri... after you get over the whole sci-fi aspect, its a great improvment on the Civ2 engine

One of the greatest games ever.

Puts most games to shame.

Genius.
