What I wouldn't give for an updated version of that game.
I played that when I had no clue what to do. Obviously.
I covered the map in militia. Haha.
Then I got trounced.
Civ 2, if you can find it with the Forgotten Worlds of whatever its called, and the Historical Scenarios, is a fantastic purchase.
Oh and I have a Civ 2 scenario problem. I try to open up scenatios in the 'Begin scneario' thing, and as they are downloaded it says 'error. cannot load file as it is not a saved game'.
Meh?
Give me 2 transports full of Armour and Howitzers, 3 AEGIS cruisers, a carrier or two full of Stealth aircraft, and a continent to conquer.
Today I crushed the French, who covered most of northern Asia.
Obliterated does not describe it.
I took about 30 cities, they have about 10 left. While winning another war on my own doorstep over in Canada/Alaska.

If you havnt already (and you probably have) you should pick up Alpha Centuri... after you get over the whole sci-fi aspect, its a great improvment on the Civ2 engine
