The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
1. Title: We'll start with the most obvious, the title of this piece. Its illiterative quality should not only be noticed but also rewarded.
2. Cheeky Charm: At the end of the day, a post blatantly claiming a GAD is cheeky. Generally frowned upon, but also endearing in its own way. I'm hoping you all view it in a good way!
3. Guts: Not only is it cheeky, but its also daring. A lot of people could read this and think I'm trying to say that I am better than them which is not the case at all, I'm merely trying to justify my receipt of free games.
4. Conversation point: If this post does nothing else, it could start an interesting conversation. Perhaps within the field of "what you have to do to win a gad" or "should this sort of thing be allowed" or the more likely "ban Tarrant, he lives up his own behind", that I personally look forward to.
5. Controversy: If this post were to be succesful, it would bring about some fine controversy with those outraged doing verbal battle with the members of my fan club. The forums would be thriving, newbies and disgruntled regulars would threaten to leave if their next topic didn't win. Not a massive change, but a new focal point.
6. Consistency: On to my good points. I don't post that regularly, I'm nt much of a name to behold on the forums, but I do like to think I post consistently. The quality of my work for these forums is generally of a high standard. I'm not saying "I rule all", but I can raise and stir a debate if and when I think its required.
7. "Notability": Unlike most other regulars, I am not promoting myself for notable status, or promoting others for that matter. Instead I am presenting you with 10 reasons why I think I should take todays GAD. Thats one day of glory (and a present), compared to wanting/ expecting my name to be immortalised in gold. Now who's being cheeky?
8. Games and the Tarrant: A lot of my topics, which people find both original and interesting, are inspired by todays games. This topic is an exception, but usually I play games then come here and get people discussing there lives gaming or otherwise in ways they may not have done. So basically, rewarding Tarrant (me) with games, ultimately rewards yourselves and your site.
9. Criteria: I feel that though it is an unusual topic, it fits the criteria to win a GAD. It has a gaming elemet to it, its amusing (no really), its well written (and well justified) and its interesting.
10. Originality: Perhaps the most important of the criteria that this post fullfills, is the originalty quota. No-one has done a post that is so blatant a request for GAD. What it lacks in subtlety and modesty, it makes up for in originality. The best part being, that a post like this can only win once, then the originality is gone and the post would fail, thus no-one can say "Hey, if he can win like that, then anyone can!"
So there you go. 10 good reasons why I should be given free things above anyone else today!
Perhaps someone will have better reason in the eyes of the man awarding the prizes. If so, so be it!

Yeah, looking back, it is pants, but your post states that you are the first, and for that, you can win as noone else can win for it. Because you are not the first, you cannot win for it.
