I am unable to save ps1 games, played on me ps2 to my memory card " memory card not present" is the message that is displayed can any one help?

It sometimes depends what slot on your PS2 you use the PS1 memory card in, because some of the older PS1 games only used to recognise Slot 1 and not Slot 2.
Generally, if I'm playing a PSX game on the PS2 I'll use an official Sony 1MB memory card in Slot 1, and if I'm playing a PS2 game I'll use a PS2 8MB memory card in Slot 1 instead.

I had this problem with and old PSone memory card. The PS2 wouldn`t recognise t, and could`t load any of the saves. Try another PSone memory card, possibly a more modern one, as it was my older card that was not recognised.
I am assuming that you are trying to save your ps1 game saveds onto a PS2 memory card? , if so it will not work so you will need to buy a PS1 memeory card to save PS1 games onto if you havent already got one :)
