Here's a question for all you gamers out there:

What would you do if you switched on your console one day to find a message flash up on the screen saying "I am gay?"

Think about it.

Would you turn it off, and never turn it on again? Would you feel guilty for turning it on in the first place, or feel dirty? Would you get rid of it, erase it from your memory? Or would you continue playing with it as always?

Think about the console for a moment. Probably a Gaystation (though the sexuality of the Gaycube could be called into question) it would have taken some courage to finally come out and reveal it's true self to you. You would have had to have built up a strong relationship with your console for it to be able to come out and tell you this things.

Could you easily throw away all of the good times? Remember when you stand up all night playing, coudl you dismiss all of that because your machine was a homosexual?

Remember when you played in your pants. Would you feel comfortable doing that still? Would you be able to undress in front of your gay console without feeling that it was looking at you, or that it might fancy you/

Personally, my feelings on the matter are that it shouldn't be important. It's still the same console as it always was, just because it's gay it shouldn't change your relationship. Also, just because your console is gay it doesn't mean that it fancies you. It's probably more likely to be attracted to the lamp in the corner, or the alarm clock.

As it doesn't really matter whether your console is gay or not, will this mean and end to the petty name calling, the Gaystation and the Gaycube? I hope so, because these consoles are there to play games on, and what they choose to do with the rest of their lives is up to them.

What a strange thought...

You seem to be talking a lot about homosexuality Meka...

;-)

People who are homophobic are morons so there.

I think that was the moral behind it, ah well.

consoles are an inanamate object, so it carnt be male or female or be gay or whatever.

but it is a good point that people should stop calling consoles gaystation or gaycube.

I expect the console would become really popular among celebrities, having a gay console and all, probably turn into some kind of fashion.

But seriously, that was a great post! Maybe a GAD winner?!?

PS. I was actually joking about the lesbian consoles thing... (honest)

oh and PlayBox sounds pretty dodgy too, but not as much as Xstation!

Yeah, but how do we know what sex consoles are anyway? We can't exactly just lift them up and check their undercarriage can we? (that'd be sexual harrassment!) I mean, just because males are the gameplaying majority, doesn't mean our consoles are male does it? The consoles could be lesbians!

In this case would we get our consoles together and try to get them to act dirty with each other so we could take photos and films and distribute them over the net for a profit? (...or is that just me...)

You never know, an Xbox may be male and a PS2 may be female (or vice versa) and they may 'git it on' and have a little baby 'Playbox2' or 'Xstation' (No, 'Xstation' sounds like a European TV channel...)

Of course the gamecube couldn't be exploring its sexuality! It's far too young and fluffy for that sort of thing!

I don't think my PS2 is ever going to do that somehow. If it did think any one of the following:

1) I've been hacked.
2) I've had too many late nights.
3) That reality had in some way gone through a phase shift since my last gaming session and that I was about to play Metal Gear Solid but instead of crawling about strangling guards I'd be mincing about and complimenting them on their nice winter outfits.
4) My PS2 really is gay, so instead of playing Gran Turismo 3 along to Blink182 I'd have to buy a Village People CD as well as redecorate my bedroom in pastel shades to keep it happy.

Either way it wouldn't matter, if it still plays games as good as before who cares which way it swings?
