is sony had not made the playstation these things would have happened:
n64 would have all the ps's games but with better graphics and better controler ( the controler is a matter of taste but the graphics would have been better)
Sega would have not had any compertion with the saturn until the n64 would have come out and would have sold more games and consoles( and would not be almost bankrupt like they are now).
there. that is why i hate the sony consoles.
> My brain's in Spain and I'm doing just fine without it.
The brain in Spain rides mainly on the plane, eh grix?!
The PSX was a successful machine, partly because it was good (despite the huge number of bad games) and partly because it was advertised well. The Saturn was also a good machine, but harder to program and ultimately let down by Sega's advertising (or lack thereof) It would have still died out earlier where as the Playstation is still selling, despite the PS2 and DC being available.
The DC is, remarkably, still selling. Unusual for a console with hardly any new games coming, but it's got a great back-catalogue too and well worth £100 (or less) The N64 is going well on the second hand market at the moment (not that Nintendo will make any money directly from that!) and is also a top console.
Oh dear, am I suposed to say something biased now? Which way do I turn. hm...gta3....ok... Playstation 2 rules and is 100000000000000 times more powerful than any other console, it's emotion chip can be used to run all the world's computers and nucular powerstations while still having enough power to pla Gran Turismo 3, so there.
:0)
hey this is fun :-)
Ho ho ho.
"i do have a reson you know. and this is it:"
Nice start. Confirms our fears.
[I think it's best that I don't really focus on spelling.]
"is sony had not made the playstation these things would have happened:"
"n64 would have all the ps's games but with better graphics and better controler ( the controler is a matter of taste but the graphics would have been better)"
Yes, the N64 would have had more games...
[But not all of them. The Playstation was a very sexy console to develop for, in the fact that you could easily port a game to it. Hense the thousands of titles. If not for the Playstation, a lot of games would have never been made, because in contrast, the N64 was a dog to work, and didn't really encourage game making like the Playstation did. I would write about the controller, but I haven't a clue what he means.]
"Sega would have not had any compertion with the saturn until the n64 would have come out and would have sold more games and consoles( and would not be almost bankrupt like they are now)."
This is true. If Sony was not here, then Sega would be very much alive in the console development world.
[But this is a bad thing. Yeah, Sega have made a lot of consoles blah de blah history... but now they've focused into what they're good at. Game making. I'm upset that they have "devolved", and that nobody bought a sodding Dreamcast, but at least now we'll see what Sega is really capable of. ALSO, they've given Nintendo a kick up the aris by appearing too... and if not for that, their games would have a lot less content. And Sega are not bankrupt.]
"there. that is why i hate the sony consoles."
All in all an excellent point to make.
[But also very, very wrong.]
Let's say Sony decided not to enter the console market, this is what I think would have happened.
Nintendo would still have launched the N64, Sega would still have the Saturn.
The N64 would be slightly more popular than the Saturn, but Sega's machine would still be reasonably succsful.
Sega would not have released the DC as early as they did.
Nintendo would not have released the GC as early as they did.
MS could have gone two ways. Either they would have decided to stay away from the console market (unlikely), or they would have decided to join early (more likely).
I think that right now, if Sony hadn't released a machine, the DC would have been out for about a year. The GC would be released this time next year, and MS would have had a 64bit machine out for the last 2 1/2 years.
C'mon Nint daddy, one of the kids escaped from the pen.
Pick it up and take it back please, before it starts charging about with a bucket on it's head shouting "Nintendo!" at the top of it's voice over and over.
