So then we got talking about what would make a good simulation game. In the end we decided a game that uses all the good points of each game would be our ultimate one. But to be able to do this there would have to be many different elements in it.
So what I propose is that you have a game where u start off by building a city like in Sim City, so it would be like playing Sim City. But then you could zoom in a select a house and control the people in it like in The Sims, so each house in your city could be personalised. Then you could also select different transport such as buses and trains, and control them independently like in Transport Tycoon, Railroad Tycoon and Sim Copter. Then it could be good it you could also select individual business and control them like in Business Tycoon and Theme Park.
Then if it was connected to the Internet as well so that everyone’s city is joined together so that every one can walk around each others cities, and create a virtual world where people have control of their section. Some sort of league table so you can compare your cities against each other’s.
At the moment this game would be hard to make because it is so big, but maybe on the consoles of the future as they are always getting bigger faster and more powerful. Who knows maybe this will the game of the future PS4 or Z-box or Nintendo Sphere (not real names).
I think that this would be a good game, as it would have lastablity as it would always be different each time you play, and there is always something to do as it is an ongoing game which as no end. But what do you think, and what would you like to see in it and why? Also at the current moment what is your favourite Simulation game? At the moment I have three favourite simulation games and there are Railroad Tycoon, Sim City and Dungeon Keeper.
One other problem with the game would be that there would be many things to control, and may even take the fun out of playing it.
I have to disagree with the idea with an ongoing simulation game that doesn’t even end, because in my opinion I think that it would get extremely boring and dull.
My latest favourite simulation game is Startopia (PC).
But my all time favourites must be The Sim (PC) and the classic Transport Tycoon Deluxe Version (PC).
Full summary: great idea for the future, if technology keeps progressing as it does.
