"Action Replay codes compatible?"

Can someone help? I had an action replay cartridge for my PS1 and enjoyed some of the things it allowed me to do to the games.

Now I've got a PS2, I wonder... Do codes for PS1 games work on the PS2 versions of the action replay? Or are they specific to the old versions of AR used on an old PS?

If they do work, I'll be investing in the new PS2 AR disks, but I won't bother if not.

Although you can't update the codes on it.
So you're stuck with what they give you.

Best to keep your PSX version, just in case.

The ARv2 Disc for PS2 contains a bonus disc featuring a code disc for PS1 games, so it's not really a problem.

No - they won't work.
The codes themselves for the PS2 have shorter lines than the PSX ones (fewer letters and numbers in a row) so they're totally different from each other.
