Yep - You can pick up Metal Gear Solid 1 for the PSX or PC this year, and it's dirt cheap!

Some other not so interesting news is that games are normally released on Fridays, and Amazon has Metal Gear 2 (PS2) down for a December 28th release, which just so happens to be a Friday...
Of course, they could have to say it's released within this year to be able to put it down - so they put the last friday in 2001, but that wasn't the case for the X-Box or it's games.
Apparantly the port is coming a long nicely and hopefully we'll be playing MGS2 before the 'dongs' on New Year's Eve!!
