Match 1-Cage match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship.
Christian comes out to some good heat, and Edge arrives to an equally good pop. This match overall was average, with no really special stunts. I expect it would've been better if it was a normal PPV. There was some good wrestling however, and I was glad to see that Christian basically won it. That was until the poor, stupid, unrealistic ending when Edge tied Christian to the cage using some sort of laces, letting Edge climb down for the victory.
Mark-6/10 Nothing special, stupid ending, but some good wrestling. By the way, Christian is the European Champion. He won it on Smackdown, but it wasn't shown. It will be shown on Heat.
Backstage now, and to the worst part of the whole night. Chavo Guerrero JNR and Hugh Morrus get their first decent TV time in ages, in some stupid act to try and interview the divas. They basically acted like kids, and squeeled in delight when they sae Trish and Lita not fully clothed. It carried on after a couple of other matches, but I won't mention them. The WWF could've at least used some decent heels to do the job, if not some faces.
Match 2-Scotty 2 Hotty vs The Hurricane
This match was the only reason I actually bought the PPV. As you all know, Scotty is my favourite wrestler, and when I heard he was facing an established wrestler (with a great gimmick too,) I just had to see it. However, I expected it to be short, with Hurricane winning in the end. It started off quite badly, with Scotty getting a pretty poor pop at his entrance. Hurricane's was actually a little better, but as the match went on, the fans cheered more for Scotty. The match was of a surprisngly high caliber, with some great spots and a nice bit of comedy. It was of a decent length, and the best thing was, SCOTTY WON!! :D Maybe it's a sign of some sort of push for the coolest guy in the WWF, but then again, it may not be. I'll just hope.
Mark-8/10 Overall, everything about this match was very good, and it was also nice to see someone like Hurricane put Scotty over. And the WORM got a massive pop. {:)
Backstage again, and to DDP, who did his usual pep-talk. He said how depressed we were, and that it's a good thing because we can only go on. Quite amusing and catchy, and to be honest, I enjoyed it, as did the crowd.
Match 3-DDP vs Big Show
DDP then headed to the ring to a nice pop, as did the Big Show. Show was the favourite for this match overall, and proved it when he got the victory with the Chokeslam. DDP then said that losing was a good thing, as that meant he could get the hell out of England. I thought that was quite good, especially comparing it to his usual 'happy' attitude.
Mark-7/10 An average match, something that could be shown on Smackdown, but DDP was quite funny.
Backstage, and Austin, Debra, Angle and Shane McMahon are sitting in the dark around a circular table. They talked about the usual stuff, and then Angle mentioned that they looked like the Knights Of The Roundtable, because they were in England. He told the group which character they were, and it was actually quite funny. Austin called him pathetic, and stomped off in a mood.
Match 4- Dudleys vs APA vs Hardys for WCW Tag Team Titles
The Dudley Boyz successfully retained their tag titles i this elimination match, successfully beating the APA and the Hardys. Jeff and Matt got huge pops all through the match, and the wrestling was of good quality, with some great spots. The finish was predictable, but still effective.
Mark-8/10 Great action, and lots of crowd involvement.
We now see Rock, Jericho and Vince McMahon sitting backstage. Vince talks about Survivor Series, and then gets them to shake hands. After he left, Jericho called Rock back and wished him good luck, asking him not to lose 'the big one' again. Rock laughed, and then began to take it to Y2J. Referee's split them up. The best bit of this was when they were being split up, and Rock kept shouting, "You want The Rock?!" "You want The Rock!?" Funny stuff. :D
Match 5- William Regal vs Tajiri
A boring match that happened on Smackdown anyway. As expected, Regal won, and it was probably one of the poorer matches of the night. However, Regal cut a small promo before the match which was excellent. Saying that he appreciated that they spent their doll money to see him wrestle, and that he was their role model. He talked about how you don't want your children to grow up like David Beckham, or anyone else from Manchester United, as they could end up doing strange things on the street. Very funny stuff, got the crowd really heated up.
Mark-5/10 Poor match, but a good promo from Regal.
Angle then cut a promo with Micheal Cole, which was mildly amusing, especially when he described the '2' in Y2J as number 2's. {:)
Match 6- WCW Championship match- Kurt Angle vs Chris Jericho
This match was for the pure wrestling fan. Lots of technical stuff, and had some great moments. But by the end it became tiresome, and I was glad when Jericho reverses the Olympic Slam into a roll-up for the 3-count. Jericho with a clean victory over Angle? Well, that proves the push that he's recently recieved.
Mark-7/10
Backstage again, Micheal Cole interviewed The Rock. As always, The Rock was superb, with some hilarious comments about English pie and strudel. And he actually complimented Cole on being one of the leading journalists in the world. Very funny, and got the crowd quite excited.
Match 7-Divas tag team match
They always have one of thse at a UK PPV, some sort of match where all the divas get involved. Molly and Stacy against Lita and Torrie, with Trish as special referee. Nothing special, nothing exciting, and really rather dull. Torrie and Lita won, with Trish getting herself some at the end with a bulldog to Stacy.
Mark-3/10 Dull and talentless. Not even a moonsault from Lita.
Match 8-WWF Championship match-The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin
These two heavyweights once again battled it out for the Federation Championship, in what was definitely the match of the night. For once Rock and Austin proved why they are main eventers, with lots of fast-paced action. Lots of decent outside action, lots of mickey-taking and overall a great match. Was ruined a little however by the ending, it which Angle helped Austin to win with the Stunner (which, as always with The Rock, was superb.)
Another brilliant part of this match was when Austin came out. He looked straight ahead of him, not looking at the audience as he walked down the aisle. What he did do, was put his middle finger up as he walked by. It was pure class the way he did it. Simple, but effective.
Mark-9/10 A great ending to what was an average night.
Bad points-
Sleeper holds-Too many of them, they broke up the matches.
Chavo and Morrus segment-Stupid and childish.
Divas tag team match-Dull
Good points-
WWF Title match-9/10 says it all.
Promos-Every one of them was superb.
Commentary-Heyman and JR were brilliant. My favourite bit was during the tag team title match, when Paul put on some Dudley glasses. JR aks, "Why are you wearing those stupid glasses?" and Paul says in a childish voice, "They help me see better." It may not sounds amusing, but the chemistry they have made it amusing.
Austin coming down the aisle-Very funny.
Overall, Rebellion 2001 gets 6/10. It probably would've been 5 if Scotty hadn't of won. {:) Some good matches and promos, marred by poor matches and childish backstage antics from Chavo and Morrus. Worth £14?? No, but would be worth half the price.
Thanks for reading, Ant.
AAAH! Um, how did WWF ever get to be a proper forum? This scares me. Now I'm off to a proper forum to quote some films ;-)
*runs screaming from forum*

That would be very nice. {:)
All of us WWF Forumers heading over to the Manchester arena, for a brilliant night of wrestling! And amazingly, perhaps some decent title changes! :D

HHH all the way. Before him the Hart brothers.
