Now its not that I want them, its just that im worried I might have an older version XBOX or somthing. Anybody else not have this feature? Its not even in my intrction manual, but the PDF version on xbox.com has pages upon pages about it.

Not really. Its not an age thing but more of a Credit card thing. This can actually be disabled so you can buy levels with out have to input passwords etc. Microsoft realised that alot of kids will probably be playing XBox Live and using there parents credit cards, so they needed some way that a parent could limit spending. Otherwise when theres loads of pay content you could spend quite a bit of money.

But there still happy to let him play with the family gun.
Microsoft wanted these features in the XBox as it projects a more family oriented image. Think some parents may not allow 13 year old Jimmy to play violent games. Set up the XBox to stop these games be played and his parents are happy. PS2 and GC he could just go out buy, rent or borrow a game they didnt want him to play. Makes sense for Microsoft to try and get extra customers like this to buy an XBox for the parental control feature.
Kinda.
Well, not at all.
I feel sorry for American kids now.

Well, not at all. MWAHAHA!!!

Well, it's basically to stop littly Timmy playing the grown-up games.
e.g. set no 15+ games to be played on the console. You then have a kid-friendly console.
But as was said - America only.
> I can't think what possible uses it could have...
In the states they have a special incentive to buy Xbox's, every console has a picture of Bill fondling his big member on the start up screen.
Of course this only appeals to obease tech-heads so they have parental settings to remove the image.
Microsoft would have it on there site as thats the American site. UK site is www.xbox.com/uk.
