One adjective can describe that Ferrari- sexy. And this game will have online play, and 5 new cities. Everything a growing boy needs.
I will be all over this game when it's released. In the words of Wayne- "she will be mine, oh yes, she will be mine" :P
To get the polygon to be so damn high something has been sacrificed, and I'm sure it's lighting effects, they just don't look right. Look at another top ranking racing game, namely GT3 on the PS2, the cars look almost as good, but the lighting simply blows PGR2 away, then you take another step up to the new R Racing and GT4, enviromental mapping makes the cars look like they are actually on the track, not just superimposed onto the scene.
Like I said, something just doesn't seem to be in place with this game, I felt the same about the last one, which actually had environmental mapping in the end, but something just isn't sitting right with me, I'll let you know when I figure out what it actually is.
Sounds interessant...
This time round, there are over double the number of cities (ie at least eight) which, so far, include Moscow, Barcelona, Florence, Edinburgh, Chicago and Hong Kong. There are also double the number of cars than were featured in the original, which itself housed 29 vehicles. The wider range of speedy transport now includes SUVs, classic sports cars, open-wheeled cars (such as beach buggies) as well as loads of traditional sports cars.
The Kudos system – in which you’re rewarded for cool-looking driving – has been tweaked so that you’re now also recompensed for slipstreaming, clean overtaking and sticking to each circuit’s racing line. Players are rewarded for doing power slides, spinning 360s, cornering on two wheels, and for the first time, drafting while staying on the race line and keeping car damage to a minimum. All the style challenges (such as the maximum speed challenge) make a return.
Xbox Live connectivity allows for single players to download ghosts of other players to compete against in time trial-style races (there are a staggering 2000 online leaderboards for the game so far), while networked multiplayer allows for up to eight racers at once.

I like the idea of getting kudos points for keeping damage to a minimum, as well as slipstreaming and stuff. Let's just hope they make the AI a bit less agressive, so you don't lose points for getting barged into in the corners...
8 players online sounds good to me, and the leaderboards are a top idea.
Roll on this Christmas!
