You see a game is coming out this year. It's an online game. It's a beardy game. (You can roleplay as an Elf if that's your bag). It's coming to the PS2.
Already I have the strategy guide for it. Already I have 14 bookmarked websites allowing me access to as much indepth information about starting characters, doing quests, item lists, beastiaries, maps, fighting monsters and exploring dungeons than I could possibly hope to take in during one lifetime. I'm putting in a bulk order for Pringles and Diet Coke with Allied Foods later on today to keep me in stock for several years. Now I'm just waiting for the release date to come around. (Earliest quote is 'June 20th 2003', latest quote is 'Winter 2003').
This game is HUGE in the States where it has been running for the past few months. This game will suck your life up. This game gives you a whole world to lose yourself in. You can be anyone you want to be. You can do anything you want to do. You can go anywhere you want to go.
It's also probably the last game I'll ever need to buy. Final Fantasy XI Online, Star Wars Galaxies, SOCOM Online and ALL other future titles just pale into significance.
If you need me, I'll be in EverQuest Online Adventures.
> How did they earn the money to play the game and...erm...live?
State funded gaming ;)
Welfare rocks.
Oh yeah, I do have the number for Gameaholics Anonymous, but there's a 3000 digit passcode you need to remember, because you can't save on their system.

Well, they used to. According to a recent poll, 5% of EverQuest players quit their jobs to play the game full-time. They call it 'EverCrack' in the States because it's so addictive.
> This game will suck your life up.
No problems there then.
I doubt the people who play these games had much of a life in the first place.
Online gaming is the pinnacle of geekiness, and I'll be steering clear.
If so, I guess I could get it now.
:oD
