Greetings...
Ive finally upgraded to broadband on my laptop, which has a usb broadband modem with no spare router ports or anything BUT my laptop has a SIS 900-Based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter inside. does any1 know if i can use this along with a cat5 cable to share my broadband connection with an xbox?

Ok. BT are yet to grant my area broadband so it looks as if I won't be on Live for a while..

finally some good advice
btw ntl is faster than blueyonder unless you can get the 2mb service
but ntl sux big time plus you don't need to pay the extra £5 if you don't bother telling them your console is online

So are you in a Cabled area? If so go and look at Blueyonder, Telewest and NTL as they dont all cover the same areas. If you cant get Cable then go via ADSL. ADSL is 512K download and 256 upload, and can be as cheap as £20 per month.

NTL is broadband as they do 600Kb and 1Mb.

all i had to do was enter my username and password for my broadband service....
easy when u know how......brain surgery when u dont ;)

right, ive got 1 step closer, (purchased a link up cable) my internet connection has ICS enabled.
Im now stuck on the 2nd part of the xbox connection, its saying - IP not confirmed - network services (DHCP or PPPoE) were not found.
have i gotta enter the ip address of my connection somewhere so xbox can find my internet connection???

Don't ask me.

Haven't got a clue about any of that.

It's 10 times faster than Dial-up and that's as far as my knowledge goes.

Oh and you don't need the channels, I'm just saying it's a hell of a lot cheaper than £40.
