It won't be around for ever will it?
The future of gaming is here so we can discuss what will happen tomorrow or next week or next month or next year.
However it will not be around for ever. Eventually someone will win the console wars. A company will dominate its rivals and slowly drive them out of business.
So what will happen then? Well the future of gaming will not be needed because it one company dominates then you know that they will continue to do so for years to some.
Now you may like the idea of one company who made the best console and best games but if they had no competition we would pay more.
Look at Internet rates. There are now loads of companies and each week they have a better, cheaper offer. We could get free internet anytime for £14;99 a month. If there was only 1 ISP we would pay way more than that because there would be no reason for them to keep low prices.
Itís the same with consoles. Because of the Xbox the Ps2 has come down a lot in price. The GC will also come down in price quickly.
Competition is healthy because it encourages people to make better games and better consoles and give us a better deal.
I am sure one of the 3 current contenders (Nintendo Microsoft and Playsation) will make huge losses at some point and go bust or stop producing consoles.
Each company will try to out do the others. It is the way with everything.
So I do see a few good points about Microsoft joining the console wars. By doing so they have reduced the prices for the Ps2 and the GC
If in a few years a new company joined the console wars prices would go own even further.
So, unless one company outsells all the others and dominates the market we will continue to get cheaper consoles and games.
So if someone wins the wars FOG will become obsolete. Really it would be what's new for (company name). We would know that no one will oppose them.
It is like that with GB. No one tries to oppose it because it is so strong and has always been good and reliable with a huge selection of games. In the next year there will be more GBA games and gadgets. Thatís it.
Whereas with consoles we will see the release of GC and Xbox and who knows what will happen?
We will have to wait and see.
Thankyou
always windows
I eman microsoft are still dominant software. After who knows how long.
They will think hard and good about why the winning company has beat them. Then, after perhaps 6 months we will see the losing companies coming back, with a new "super" console.
Thus, making FOG Prime and Chat LIVE FOR EVER!
"Long live FOG!!"
:D
