In Ely, on a Saturday, on of the main roads is closed to vehicles, it's either High Street or Market Street, I don't know which, despite living near Ely for 24 years, it's not important.
Anyway, seeing droves of people, walking in the middle of the street reminded me of something. Zombies. The only time you really see people walking down the centre of roads, in there tens, is in zombie movies, with the zombies having little regard for the laws on the road.
My fears that I was living amongst the dead was later confirmed as I was coming out f WHSmiths. I heard a woman say to her child "You don't want t'go in there, there int noffink but books!" That made me angry, fisrt of all with the parent telling the child how to think - "You don't want to...." I think a kid is capable of deciding what it wants.
Secondly, what the heck is wrong with books? Don't go into WHSmiths kids, those nasty evil books will fill your minds! You might, God forbid, learn something!
Damn, dirty, ignorant, stupid people.
But don't cry for them, they're already dead.
I like Ely though.
Just not some of the people that live there.
Damn dirty dirt.
I think people just accept what they find, and complain about the worst bits.
eg) gad, people get an extra one, and complain because sometimes it goes for cheats, were they happier when there was just one that never went for cheats?
--- not meaning to start anything, just an example ---
I'd kind of agree with the man who has everything being the poorest, but i've found that from my (relatively) huge summer income of 39 hrs per week plus (lots of) overtime, and hours that left me little chance to drink my pay away etc., i tried to fill the proverbial hole i felt with dvds, minidisks, pc's (well one of each!), a holiday (which was actually good), instead of tackling the real problems causing the hole. A bit of wisdom instead of expecting money to solve all your problems, and i don't think the richest man HAS to be the poorest.
it seems one of the most common questions that we face is that of dealing with ignorancee. is it right to ignore peopl that find books boring, or do we try to enlightning them.
pehaps our dream of utopia isnt really wht it actualy is. i mean, if you were to liv in a perfect pardise would you expet people who complan about not winning gameaday and write like this all the time? i think nor, but then pehaps we are mistaken in the though that perfectrion xomes from everything good, when in facr perhaps its actually more to do with balance in emotions, for the man who has everthinh is a very pooe mna
onc again sorry for the writing im not looking at tthe screen
You can go looking for pedestrianised areas and vent your frustrations by speeding along there and knocking them all flying.
"Bad-mouth WH Smiths will ya?"
*Blasts horn*
"Get outta my way, freak!"
*Dull thuds as bodies go flying...*
Erm... okay, so maybe I'm playing a little too much GTA3.
Oh well, must go. Umm, GTA3 is calling.
Ta ta.
