Hi all - can someone recommend (or provide?) a reliable PHP script that will detect browsers via the HTTP_USER_AGENT variable? I've got one that works OK, but I'm interested to know of others.
Also - on the same subject: My script is finding "odd" values in the user_agent, like "Microsoft URL Control - 6.00.8169" and "FAST Crawler ..", which I assume must be robots having a snoop around. I know what FAST is, but does anyone have views as to what such agents are, and in particular whether they're dangerous?

I'm not too sure about PHP, but I know that there is a JavaScript that will do the same thing.
Put just the following into a PHP file:
You should get a list of all the environment variables currently set. Have a look to see if any of them have anything to do with browsers. I can't right now because my PC is on the verge of crashing.
