Microsoft are a talented bunch, they bring us some of the best office programs around and are responsible for Windows. Alot of people hate microsoft (me included) because of their money grabbing atitude and the way they illiminate the competition to come out top.

I've never really looked into the Xbox because the games weren't that appealing and I aint made of money, However seeing it in action on cybernet my jaw went through the floor, It's like a £2000 PC designed specifically for games shoved in a box, ok microsoft can only do simulators but what about third partys.

You know how Sony came along and kicked Sega and Nintendo's behinds real good, well if Microsoft play their cards right they might do the exact same thing. I think it'll do extremely well in the U.S but the Japanese were too busy with Final Fantasy to notice the gamecube launch nevermind the xbox from that rich American chappy :-)

I'm going to the Xbox Xperience in Manchester to play it for real and if I can afford it will get one when the price comes down, Why spend £240 for the PS2 HDD and Modem when the xbox has them build in, I have gaming needs people.

Oh, you forgot the bit about Bill Gates not actually designing the first version of Windows that Microsoft released. He actually stole the program off another company, and then copywrighted it! Cheeky git!

Actually, there's hardy anything in Windows that wasn't invented somewhere else first.

look a few points.

1. the Xbox to my knowlege will NOT have a modem adapter. Meaning you have to buy broadband to play it online.

2. It is big and ugly and black and will never be released in another colour cos it would look horrible.

3. the GC launch was over shadowed by events in america if you havn't forgotten.

4. The japenese will not like Xbox cos its so big. They like very small things cos of limited space in cities. Hint GC.

5. Microsoft keep trying to make money out of companies by making their software annoying and expensive.

ok rant over

Even if it does run like a £2000 PC it still wouldn't be running enough games that appeal to me to justify it's purchase.

There hasn't been one game announced on the Xbox that I want more than any of the games on the Gamecube. At least the PS2 has some titles to get excited about.

I mean, even the names of the games do little to inspire me:

Mad Dash Racing: I'm sorry, but, to me, that's the crappiest name for a racing game ever.

The other game names slip my mind now, due to their level of naffness my brain has had to scrub them from memory.

It looks ugly. I haven't seen it in the flesh, but it just looks bulky and awkward in the piccies I've seen. The controller doesn't look too nice either.

So with no games I like, and with it's poor aesthetic design I can't see myself getting an Xbox.

Ive got a PS2 and looking forward to getting a GC!! The only games that tempt me to get an X-Box are Halo, Oddworld and Dead or Alive 3!! Sadly not enough - Its a great machine but I very much doubt I will get one!!

Ive played all three machines, the Xbox is a powerful machine and Im certain may eventually be pushed further than any other machine GameCube included. I played Halo today and driving people over in a FPS is immense fun!

However this is just one game, and only time will tell how successful the machine will be. The Xbox pad is too big and very uncomfortable. Whether that will hinder sales is another matter entirely!
