Now, fully uncut and presented with a rather tasty selection of extras, Fist of Fury comes to DVD in style.
Bruce plays Chen Jun, a martial arts student whose master is poisoned and killed by Japanese fighters. Angry and distraught, Bruce sets out to avenge his masterís death and bring justice to his killers - bad news for the Japanese. Bruceís mastery of the martial arts ensures that he succeeds and that not even an entire school of Japanese fighters can stop him.
On his way he fights Japanese students, their teacher, a Russian with incredible strength, a master of Japanese martial arts and even a chef (guess who wins that battle!).
Re-instated is the fantastic nunchaku scene with Bruce fighting 20 or so Japanese fighters all at the same time. Also in this special edition, uncut version of the film is a fight scene involving Bruce using his nunchuks to fight a man with a kitana. Both of these fight scenes were previously cut from the UK versions of the film and have only just become available to UK audiences.
As for extras, there are 2 trailers, a couple of interviews, a biography of Bruce Lee, photo galleries and a commentary track by Hong Kong cinema expert Bey Logan. You can also watch the film with the original Cantonese speech and English subtitles or, if youíre not in the mood to read, then you can set it to English Dubbed. Both are fine but I have to admit I prefer subtitles as Iím not a great fan of the guy who dubs Bruce Leeís voice. :-D
Once again, Hong Kong Legends have produced a top class DVD with some great extras and, as always, fantastic menus. A must for any Bruce Lee fan.
