But some of my DVDs dont work on it.
I have been told it requires some modification(adding a new chip) inorder for all the DVDs to work on it.
Does anyone out there know of any such chip.

Nope sorry mate but the thing I would do is go to some where like GAME or even ask that question to a magzine and buy the magazine and see what they say (if they reply). The only thing is, is that it may cost you something like £50 or over. Someone else had that problem, he sold that PS2 and bought an english one : )
It lets you use any region DVD's on the console.
