"name that kiddies programme??"

Anyone remember the cartoon that had a creature that lived in the sand and kids came to ask it for wishes. It was set in the 50/60's, it was really bad but nobody can remeber it.

can you answer any of these??

1) What was the name of the show
2) What was the name of the creature
3) Was it killed in the end by touching water
4) Did it sneeze in order to grant the wishes

Hey... that wasnt a cartoon, it was live action... and wasnt it made in the mid-ninites! ...

Box of Delights... now theres a dodgy kids drama of yore...

I remember that! There was one where they travelled through time and (conveniently) ended up in our present. They went around a supermarket putting stuff in a trolley then tried to walk off with it. Apparently in the 50s money didn't exist! I'm not going to complain about the historical accuracy though, they did get wishes off a sand monster. Was it Suckor?

I've got to say that programme was special in some way. I don't rememeber any of the story lines but I knew at once by the discription what you meant. Yea, a real classic.

yeah it was called Psammead, think the series was called 5 children and it.

You didn't miss much they just wished for 'those wonderful wings again'. Yup.

He did die I think..

Wasn't it called the last of the samiads though?

Was that the weird show where they wished for wings or something, and they got stuck on the top of a church tower?
