I'll agree with you that he's the best Bond, along

Well said, Stryke. What an intelligent comment. I am 27 and have grown up with Moore and Connery but each Bond has added ot taken a bit away from the previous actor. Goldeneye is an incredible film in its own right. Brosnan makes a superb Bond and reminds me of Connery's days gone by. Dalton in a great actor but has far too much emotion in his expression to be a Bond. Roger Moore had his own style and if you remembered him as the Saint, then you could also enjoy his perfomances.
I hope that there are new Bond films and new Bonds for as long as I live.

I'll agree with you that he's the best Bond, along with Connery. Both play the role in much the same way, whereas Dalton played him as more of a killer, and Moore played him as a socialiser who occasionally fought when the Martini was being chilled or whatever.
Goldeneye remains my favoruite Bond film.
And has anyone noticed this is in Chat, not DVD where it should be and where us people versed in film lore live? ;-)
Plot in my terms: Girl's parents die [associated with decoder], girl vows vengence, Bond tries to interrogate man who killed girls parents, girl kills him before he gets a chance, Bond meets and becomes friends with girl, does the "stay where you're safe" routine. Bond traces man assuming paying man that killed girls parents for doing so, and leads him to Russian war hero, smuggler. He tells him of another smuggler, known as the dove, and the man that paid the man worked for him. And so tale goes on, involving 16 year old girl trying to seduce Bond, some skiing sequences, Bond finally meeting the Dove, and then the Dove telling him that all that was told of him was actually the Russian Warhero, and he should trust him instead. Bond does, and some more tense action comes along. Bond and girl of dead parents then recover decoding machine, and is promptly nicked by Russian Warhero, and a quite decent sequence of the Russian Warhero trying to drown Bond occurs. Then at the end the best bit, where Bond climbs a cliff face to reach a monastry where the Russian Warhero has hidden himself, and is about to make a deal with KGB for decoder. Bond saves the day, and gets the girl.
Probably sounds a lot worse than it is. But it's a good plot for a Bond film, has tense instead of exciting action, and is much more down to earth than any other Bonds. Much enjoyed by me. Good acting from Moore as well...
Bad points? Music isn't really to my taste... and it's very much based on the time period. And the pre-titles bit is... odd... to say the least.
Connery was the original, Moore had that comedy with the role and he got jaws twice, lazenby the second half of the film was better than the first (it seemed to drag on and on then the action started to happen), dalton had that serious bond thing going on but only got to do 2 films, and brosnan gets the new M,denise richards, famke jansen...... .
My favourite bond has to be Roger Moore, because I grew up when they showed a lot of his films on the tv.
