I am aware now of a purpose, of a will to survive but that wasn't always the case. I first became aware shortly after pushing through what can only be described as a soft 'tissue' like substance. I spent a short period just bobbing along in the liquid, unknowing. I then became aware of what I was and the potential of what I could become but I would have to be strong.
At the moment I am just a bulbous head and a short tail but that will change, of that I am determined. The tail propels me through the liquid but now I have a purpose, an instinct for survival. All around me are my siblings, some are stronger than me, some are weaker but only the strong will survive what lies ahead of us. There are hundreds of us milling around in this small area of liquid maybe thousands but I am not worried.
The instinct in me is growing stronger all the time and I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel and on that day I will become……
a frog.
