The PS2 DVD dosn't cope well with double density DVD disks which most of the recent films will use. All about how quickly the player can read the disks and then output the picture and sound.

Lip sync problems could also be common with it.

I'd advise you to leave your PS2 to games and try get a cheap DVD player for your films.

Probably crap too.

Ak#lthough anything's probably better than the playback on the PS2.

My PS2 seems to be a little faulty with Vice city. I replayed through the whole game last week and the disc drive was making seem really loud noises and taking longer than usual to load certain scenes. Seems to be fine with other games though.

What may be happening is that you are accidentally tapping the R1 button. That skips scenes. make sure your controller is well away from anything, and then try watching.

Don't know why there would be a problem I used it properly, unless someone else in family dropped something on it or some think I dunno, its odd most DVDs I have play fine, no problems.
