"Playing Audio CD`s"

I was at a mates house yesterday and he was playing a CD on his PS, and on screen was a kinda psychedelic lightshow changing with the music. My 4 year old PS wont do this, does the new PsOne or the PS2 ?? Anyone help ?

I play all my CD's on my PC anyway, hence the lack of any CD players in my room....

The older PS1 had the old grey boring menu to play cd's but Sony changed it from time to time to liven it up. The PS2 has this colourfull cube at the side thats quite entertaining :-D

I too have the old PS1, and no, all the old PS1 dont do this (4-5 years old) they have just that boring grey screen where you select tracks and the type of place the music is being played. eg - church.

The PS2 has all the usual track options but it also has a spinning cube that changes colours.
