Maybe... but not where games are concerned...

Amazingly European games magazine Computer And Videogames has now been going for a massive 20 years and to celebrate they've rounded up what they and the readers think are the top 100 games of all time in the latest issue.

Wondering what was at number 1? I've typed up all the Nintendo/Rareware games featured and the numbers they placed at.

100. Pilot Wings - Nintendo, Snes, 1991
95. Pokemon Gold/Silver - Nintendo, Game Boy Color, 1999
88. Donkey Kong Country - Rareware, Snes, 1994
87. Knight Lore - Rareware/Ultimate, Spectrum, 1984
80. Super Mario Kart 64 - Nintendo, N64, 1996
79. Banjo Kazooie - Rareware, N64, 1998
72. Star Fox 64 - Nintendo, N64, 1997
62. Wave Race - Nintendo, N64, 1996
57. Pokemon Red/Blue - Nintendo, Game Boy, 1995
52. Zelda: Link's Awakening - Nintendo, Game Boy, 1993
44. Legend Of Zelda - Nintendo, Nes, 1986
38. Yoshi's Island - Nintendo, Snes, 1995
29. Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask - Nintendo, N64, 2000
28. Super Mario Brothers - Nintendo, Nes, 1985
19. Super Metroid - Nintendo, Snes, 1994
18. Perfect Dark - Rareware, N64, 2000
14. Super Mario Brothers 3 - Nintendo, Nes, 1989
09. Tetris - Nintendo, Game Boy, 1989
08. Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past - Nintendo, Snes, 1992
07. Super Mario World - Nintendo, Snes, 1990
06. Super Mario Kart - Nintendo, Snes, 1992
05. Goldeneye - Rareware, N64, 1997
02. Super Mario 64 - Nintendo, N64, 1996
01. Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time - Nintendo, N64, 1998

Nintendo well and truly dominated the chart and had more games in it than any other developer. Here's to another 20 years of quality videogames!

You've gotta admit... these guys know their stuff... and I know a lot of the PS2 titles are coming out in November so you Sony people have cause to moan... but still...

It's good news for Ninties... :D

Game

Its true Nintendo and Rare make damn fine games!

Only problem was - aside from Nintendo and Rare, all the other games developers for N64 were fairly pants - comparitively speaking. They've got quality, they don't have quantity, or they didn't with N64.

SNES is still the best console to have existed. I hope the Gamecube is like a next gen SNES.

Also, could one of you fine gents tell me where Secret of Mana placed on that list?

Lol, looks like SR will award you Gameaday again! :-D

I saw that list too.

One quarter of the top 100 games of all time were from Nintendo and Rare.
That doesn't surprise me.

What does surprise me is that Donkey Kong Country came in at 88!

Come on! It should've been right near the top alongside the just as wonderful Super Mario World!
