Anyway, my Dad has asked me to make a website for him. Let's call it www.xxx.co.uk. It only has to be one page; even I can manage that! The domain xxx.co.uk is available to buy.
So, my question is which domain buying and hosting service should I use? Obviously I don't need too much space, just something cheap and reliable. Also, how do I transfer the site from my computer to the hosts? I know how to FTP.

The domain name will actually stay in the address bar, despite it redirecting. However, it's important to note that you get no webspace with the oneandone option, so you HAVE to use one of these external hosts.
Still the cheapest solution though.
I'll find a good place for you.
Use, staghosting.com as your host. They're free and there's no adverts apart from a link on your index page at the bottom.
Two corrections in the same minute. Well done, memo.

He said .co.uk, if you were going to make a stupid joke you could have at least gotten it right.
And on the actual subject, I can't help, sorry.
Sounds good!
