I had been told that this was one of the top horror movies in America now. This may or may not have been true, and while this is a good film, I wouldn't place it in my top horror movie roster, not far though.
What about the film itself?
Well, it took quite a while to really get into it. I mean, the beginning was quite boring; A brother and sister driving along a road in the middle of no-where, until they stumble upon someone throwing something wrapped in sheets down a pipe. Then that person scares the crap out of them with his rusty old truck and an annoying horn.
Of course, curiousity prevails, and they check it out. What was thrown down a pipe next to a banged up old church, wrapped in bloody stained sheets?
I won't tell you in case you are going to see the film anytime soon, but it does hot up a bit after this. I must admit, I thought it was pretty gory for a 15, but times are a changing, and so are what is allowed in the film to reach a certain age rating.
And the evil thing, the villain of the film so to speak is quite cool, not very original, but still pretty cool.
But is the film scary? Does it make you jump out of your skin?
Hmmm, I suppose so. I must admit, it did make me jump on a couple of occasions, but they were pretty stupid things to jump at. When you watch the film, you may find out what I mean.
But is it scary? Well, it certainly has the atmosphere, and on several occasions, I held my breath in case something would jump out.
Overall, the film was alright. The beginning was pretty bad, and the ending was even worse, but the middle was very good. It took too long to get into it, and ended it in the most stupid way.
Should you spend your money it? Why not? It is pretty good, and if you do like horrors, then you should enjoy it.
AWFUL name.
With no offense intended, I thought you could have given us some more gruesome details to make us want to watch it more and I'm sure you could have done it without giving away the whole plot, which is what a preview of the film did when I read it the other week.
