First we had jazz, then the music industry saught to modernise jazz by dumbing it down and creating a more accesible version - acid jazz. It worked.
Skiffle music has never reached dizzying heights of fame, so I think seeing as the music industry is fairly quiet on the originality front, now would be the time to revamp and re-release skiffle in a more accesible fashion.
