I hate to say I think it will be the overrated PS2. It has the fanbase already, and since Sony can actuallt market the thing, it got all casual gamers on its side already.
I reall want the Gamecube to win. Think about it, it has the God of Games behind it(Shiguru Miyamoto), some of the most well-known characters in the world and the games are all based on the gameplay(those done by Nintendo, at least). The only thing going against it is the colour - bright indigo. I can't see it blending in with most kids' rooms. Plus, it alienates the more mature gamer because violence and X-rated material aren't on the top of Nintendo's priority list
I wouldn't mind that much if the X-Box came out on top, but there is the problem of Bill Gates. He symbolises all that is nerdy with the world, and that transfers onto the X-Box itself. Add to that the fact that it's the biggest console ever made, and you've got a problem. However, the awesome graphics will probably be enough for some casual gamers to go out and but it. It does have the rights to some great games, such as Shenmue, WWF and Munch's Odessey.

I don't think any console can, without a hard fight.
As for Shenmue 2, it's only in the US that it's not on Dreamcast, but on X-Box everywhere .... well, thats what I've read.

Cheers, Digs Graves, nice to see something positive coming from someone. As far I know, the Dreamcast IS getting Shenmue 2, but that and all others are going to X-Box. Also, I mean best in the sense of the most sales, most profit being made and most positive publicity in the national press and media. For example, the PS is the most well-known games console ever, with everyone who doesn't know about games calling every console either 'that there machine' or 'PlayStation'. Can any other console become as mainstream as the PS has?
I'm not to sure if Casual gamers will just go out and spend £300 on the X-Box.
As for PS2 Ads.... can't say they would make me wanna get one.... they are just to.... you know.
Still the PS2 is pretty good, I've played it over a mates (I don't have one) an some of the games are pretty good :o).
