I found this article on the BBC News Website Technology section.

At first glance it looks like the old 'innovation in gaming stifled by high production costs' story that we see often enough on these forums, but it does have some interesting insights into:

- portability of games from one platform to another
- how EA have suddenly discovered that they need to learn to run online communities as well as just produce games
- Console software sales vs PC software sales
- how 12% of Korea's population are interested in FIFA
- how piracy has helped software developers (who'd have thunk it?)
- ingame advertising
- and an interesting graph at the bottom predicting software market share up to the year 2011 (by Screen Digest)

All in all I thought it was quite a decent article, (actually, to do it justice I'll edit this post and add that I think it was an excellent article that I wish I'd written myself) it didn't just regurgitate the same stuff from last year like most articles everywhere seem to do.

It also might be worth buying up some shares in IGA or Massive Incorporated if they're available...
