Ok so the visuals are not up to next gen standards just yet but i expect a bit of spit and polish will sort that out. After reading some in-depth previews the game is literally screaming ingenious new Perfect Dark replacement. It looks like it has adopted the perfect dark graphical style and the new ghost feature looks set to add far more depth to the first person proceedings, a dying guard can shoot a switch, a woman can do a retinal scan into a computer... set pieces and good multiplayer fun ahoy!
But Viewtiful Joe still tops my anticipated list... oh yes.
It has assault rifles for one thing.
It appears to be a FPS with a twist in who you are - and as such, the 'exploration' (i.e any normal exploration in a FPS) is just done differently.
...For this year, anyway!
Sure, there's Mario Kart: Double Dash!! - but after what we've heard and seen, how can we be SURE this one is going to be as-good - if not better-than - all the others?
"Metroid Prime 2" could also top my list - but seeing that I've gotten distracted from finishing the first-one off, and that this one's still some-time-away, I haven't really got all that-much to look-forward to.
A Wind Waker sequel would instantly be top-of-my-list!
...But, so-far, again, there's no news.
The same applies to "Animal Crossing 2", also.
So, Viewtiful Joe it is! :)
And as for Geist... If you ask me, this game is shaping-up to become a lot like Metroid Prime, in the way that it isn't a standard "first-person shooter", thanks to the elements of "adventure" and "exploration" involved.
My Dad be a bank manager and he have a customer who be in the production team for geist.
Go me.

No. That was the first thing that came to mind. It's still my most anticipated game. I put my GC choices a post above the one you quoted.
But F-Zero on the other hand...I find myself having to watch the trailer a lot, as it makes my eyeball melt with joy. Happy happy!
O, and Starcraft: Ghost is also looking sweet.
