She was sculpted with arms (no one knows who by), but since the staue is really old, and limbs are fragile, they fell off, or got knocked off or something like that, again, no one knows what happened. Another interesting fact is that shw wouldn't have been white when she was first finished. The Greeks painted and guilded their sculptures, but that too has worn off due to the age of the sculpture.

What I want to know is why in the Jon Bon Jovi song Queen of New Orleans , Venus De Milo is wearing her sisters jeans.
It was to symbolize the struggle of women, searching for equality. The lack of arms symbolises the men of the world, we prevent women from achieving what they are capable of, in much the same way that the lack of having arms may well do…or as the other guy said…ran out of clay.
