I was just wondering if I were to download Netscape, would it work alright without conflicting with IE. I'm running Windows 98 at the moment, but if you can't do this on Windows 98 and you can on another version of Windows, please let me know.

Thanks.

Does it use more resources?

Here is what the read-me has to say:-

"What's new:
3.0 Beta 1 love (10/09/01) (developer's) build #448
- mostly finalized all interfaces so developers can get busy
- config file in sexy XML now
- crossfader switchable again
- crossfade on next/previous works
- playlist editor:
- faster, better, more stable
- shuffle on next now default behavior
- sorting by specific criteria, more general sorting to come later
- .pls loading
- no more "working playlist", now whatever playlist is showing is the playlist being edited, always
- prioritizes ID3 reading for items you're looking at
- sexy skinned drop indicator
- playlist saving works again
- url selector remembers recent entries
- skinning:
- groups work better
- many components now scalable (not working 100% yet)
- skins start out centered on screen on first load
- gamma groups! tintastic!
- memory usage reduced
- finally, some better buttons than the ones I made in MS Paint on my laptop with a touchpad (thanks Steve!)
- many many bugfixes, including the NT4 startup crash
- even better SDK
- lots more!"

I have yet to explore all of its new components but my first impression is a good one. I have always like winamp and this version is no excpetion. The design is great, it's a little bit smaller when compared with earlier versions of winamp but I think this makes it look better. Another good thing about this program is the fact that it is only 1.4mb in size, so it will take no time at all to download.

It's only a beta version but I think it is good. I'll try re-installing it, cheers.

I just installed Netscape and it also installed Winamp 2.62 for some reason. It's a bit annoying because I had Winamp 3 set as the default mp3 player but now 2.62 has took over. Anyone know how to change this?

Thanks.

I run Netscape under Linux. I'm not impressed.

Thanks for the advice, I would of probably kept IE the default anyway because I'm not a big fan of Netscape.
