Hi all. I'm looking to buy the "best" online FPS around that isn't just a mindless blast-fest. The game should be made so that players benefit the most from co-operation. it should be realistic.

Battlefield 1942, right? Well, the problem is i've heard the netcode is sucky. And since single player isn't something i do, a smooth online experience is the most important factor for me.

Others have recommended Vietcong, Counterstrike, etc etc, but these lack vehicles 9which is a dimension i quite like the idea of). Taking the above considerations into mind, which do you think is the best FPS for me?

Just stick with battlefield for now, it does lag on certain servers despite the ping you may have (I've been on servers where my and everyone elses ping was under 40 and it still lagged like I had a 56k modem) but get on to a smaller server and things should run more smoothly.

It's one of, if not the best vehicular based online games I've played, and then you also have a pick of some great mods to download and play as well such as Desert Combat, Eve of Extinction and the upcoming Star Wars mod.

Unreal Tournament 2004 looks like it's going to be a mind blower also i reckon Half-Life 2 will be a contender as well, when they are both released.

Oh I missed the realistic bit. But Tribes is still really fun and heavily dependant on teamplay.

Tribes 2. Or Planetside if you can afford it. But Tribes is slowly dying from what I can see. But Tribes 3 was announced a little while ago, hurray.

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
Impressive control panel
I have to say that I'm impressed with the features available having logged on... Loads of info - excellent.
