There are okay PPVs. There are good PPVs. And there are some PPVs which are truly, and totally, amazing. WWF Summerslam 2001, is one of those. A combination of classic matches, great acting and a whole load of courage are what makes Summerslam 2000 one of the best World Wrestling Federation Pay-Per-View's ever.

The first match is your basic 'fun' match, as I would call it. Most PPVs start with a 'fun' match, and this is no exception. Bull Buchanan, The Goodfather and Steven Richards (Right To Censor) face my favourite wrestlers Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) along with their buddy Rikishi, in 6-man tag team action. Unfortunately for me, RTC won the match, but it was filled with great points such as a lot of dancing, a stink-face and a couple of luuurvely ladies! I really liked this match-it was very fast and it really hyped the crowd. A great start.

Chris Benoit vs Chris Jericho. When you see that, you think of classic battles, submission moves and non-stop entertainment. However, at Summerslam 2000, they TRIPLED this. The match was a 2-out-of-3 falls match. The first to 2 pin falls, won the match. This match was awesome-lots of technical wrestling, as well as some amateur stuff. The audience showed their appreciation with many rounds of applause during the whole match, and these 2 Canadians certainly deserved it. Chris Benoit came out on top winning 2-1, but only thanks to a little bit of cheatery at the end.

Edge and Christian vs Hardy Boys vs Dudley Boyz. We've seen that enough times, right? Well, not like this! This time, these 3 kings of the tag team division took on each other for the WWF Tag Team Titles, in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. The first team to climb the ladder and grab the belts, won. This was an all-out war, and is the most dangerous and truly breathtaking match I have ever experienced. Jeff Hardy climbed a ladder, leaped off it trying to put Buh Buh Ray Dudley through a table, only to find himself going through it instead. Buh Buh and Matt Hardy fell all the way from the top of a 15foot ladder through 4 tables on the ground. Lita ran out and nailed a beautiful Hurracanrana on Christian. In the end it was Edge and Christian who got the belts to retain their titles, but in honesty, all 3 men deserved it. There is perhaps only one man who produced more death-defying feats than these guys did, and that's legend Mick Foley.

The main event was a triple threat match for the WWF Championship. It would be current champion The Rock, against Triple H and Kurt Angle. This match came together thanks to an enticing storyline, called the Kurt Angle-HHH-Stephanie love triangle. Triple H's wife, Stephanie, appeared to become very friendly with Kurt Angle. Triple H was very paranoid, sure that Kurt Angle was trying to seduce his wife. Well, his theory was proved true when Angle took advantage of a stunned Stephanie, by kissing her for a rather long time on the last show before Summerslam. The match was hyped up all night, with Kurt ringing Stephanie, HHH ranting and raving and finally, Kurt telling HHH that he could never be as good a husband as Kurt would be. Finally the 3 men got in the ring, but not before Triple H pedigreed Angle through a table. Unfortunately, the table collapsed before HHH could finish the move, and Kurt suffered a bad concussion, completely ruining the match plan. The Rock and Triple H improvised brilliantly, providing superb entertainment. And then somehow, Angle used all his bravery and courage, and made his way back to the ring to finish the match. Finally, The Rock successfully defended his title, and for reasons that nobody knew, Kurt carried an unconscious Stephanie away, without Triple H knowing.

These 4 matches, along with many other fantastic performances, were the best I've seen in a long time. Some superb acting are also a large part in why it was so successful. This is a PPV not to be missed. A must buy.

Thanks for reading, Ant.

PS-Sorry it's quite short, I had to fit in the DVD Reviews section, which means no more than 4000 characters.

Sadly, this didn't win FAD.

Hopefully, my review of the same event will win Fridays prize.

Hopefully.

The TLC match @ Summerslam 2000 was way cool, but not as good as the one @ WrestleMania 17 coz it was 3 teams of 3 which was cool & E+C WON!
