Name: Sheffield Wednesday Pro Soccer
Genre: Football, set to be the most realistic football game, ever.
Story: The game is set around the greatest club on earth, Sheff Wed. You get to play as the current team, your objective is to gain promotion from the 1st division by winning the other teams. If there were money available, you could by players but since as you start the game £16 million in debt its not an option. Its is also possible to be relegated which adds a real likeness to the current situation.
Its is also possible to play through glory years during the 80ís and early 90ís. Here you get to play in the many cup finals and the games we played in Europe. Its also possible to re-create that 5-4 beating of Sheff U in the 50ís!!
There is even all the other teams to play as, including all the divisions and stats for this season.
Graphical power: The graphics engine used is identical to the one used in the Pro Evo series. All the Sheff Wed players look stunning and like there real life counter parts. Its amazing as you see Kevin Pressmanís fat ripples as he lands on the floor after letting many goals in. You also see Di Piediís greasy hair flow around as he runs up the wing. Also included is a full-animated Referee and lines persons. And the staff can be seen on the side of the pitch, often in Sheff Weds case, pulling out there hair.
Game play: There are two types of game play within the game. When playing as any other team other than Sheff Wed, it matches the excellent Pro Evo series. Every thing is as realistic as you can possible get within a computer game. The AI is all excellent, the players really act as if they are think what to do next, making runs forward and getting into space to receive the ball. Scoring is now more a work of art, all the build up needs to be just right, but also the defenders do make mistakes, as do goal keepers, so blunders such as Barthezís example can all be possible. Extras include being able to attack players, both on your side and the other team, it is also possible to push/kick/punch the ref and linesmen. Be warned though, the penalties are severe.
When play as Sheff Wed, the second type of game play is used. I call this, the Sheff Wed Emotion Physics ©, this is an even more realistic version of football, taken straight off the sheff wed pitch. When playing this passes often fall very short, and possession is usually always lost. Through balls are bearly extinct, and the only time you will see one is when its through your defence. Tackles are always late leading to many free kicks and one on ones with the keeper in there high numbers. Shooting is made even harder than seen on the UEFA striker games. Shots always go wide or are on target but yield the power of a 5 year old, so never trouble the keeper. Headers might as well not be attempted as you will never get to them.
When playing against sheff wed, the game resembles a fifa game, goals are easily done, and you rarly loose possession. Still, this is suppose to be the greatest, most realistic football game ever.
Leagues and cups:
It is possible to play as any club in England, so all the leagues are here, as are the cups. Its now possible to play in the Auto Wind shield cup, which is a major step forward.
Sound:
The commentary is taken form BBC Radio Sheffield, so any local lads will instantly recognise it. Also, all the sheff wed songs have been recorded to offer that realistic atmosphere. Very good indeed. However your volume will have to be turned full to here the few dozen who sing at the games.
The expected release date is unknown, and developer yet to be found, however a free gift will be presented when purchased from all major computer stores. A free Chupa Chups lolly, from Chupa Chups along with the a large stock of unsold sheff wed shirts.
Please leave your pre-orders here. Cheers.
