Well here it is, at last. Please post your comments/opinions at the end. Enjoy :)

Matt walked wearily down the road, with his dog, Doc, trotting faithfully at his heels. He had abandoned his car half a dozen miles away, in order to sneak past the army checkpoint. He knew the area well, and had no problem negotiating a safe path into Darkwood forest. It was not a pleasant place, as some forests are, but had thousands upon thousands of trees all packed tight around each other. The atmosphere was tight and clammy, and above all, foreboding. Although it was a sunny afternoon day, few light rays penetrated the seething mass of branches at the top of the trees, and the forest was quite shady. This attributed to the forests name - Darkwood.

Matt wasn’t worrying about this as he walked slowly across the forest floor. He had been in the Boy Scouts when he was younger, not of his own choice but of the pressure his father put on him. His father was adamant that the skills learnt in the Scouts were useful and practical, and so he forced his son to attend. His mother had no choice in the matter, as she had died giving birth to Matt.

Matt was glad of the Scout lessons he had learnt, as he could now direct himself towards the rough area where the remains of his fathers mansion were using his compass and map. There was a faint trail in the forest made by unknown creatures or people, that Matt followed. Turning a corner and walking past a large oak, Matt jumped back in revulsion and shock. On the trail lay the remains of what looked like another one of the Beast’s victims. Upon closer inspection, however, he noticed the grisly remains had fur attached to them, which indicated an animal, and not a person, which made it likely that this had been an unfortunate animal that had been eaten by a bear. It was bear season, and a lot of large grizzlies had been sighted. They were the most ferocious of the bear types, and had a passion for killing humans as well as animals.

Matt worriedly glanced around him, and unslung his rucksack from his back. He produced a Colt Python, one of the many firearms he had recovered from his fathers gun cabinet in the basement. He checked it for bullets, then thrust it into his belt. Something made him take it out of his belt though, and check the bullets again. They were silver! That was what had been nagging at him back at his house. Childhood stories came flooding back to him, about mysterious beasts that came alive at full moons, and were invincible to all but silver bullets, about beasts that were half human, half animal, and about beasts that had no conscience, no heart, and a passion for cruelty.
Werewolves!!

Matt sunk to his knees in disbelief. His father had created one of these foul things, one of these messengers of death, one of these killing machines. Why? He would never know, as his father had been killed by his own creation, and it had escaped to bring everyone else death, misery and fear.

Hearing a twig crack behind him, Matt cocked the gun, and whirled around. He was face to face with a huge Grizzly bear! It was a huge thing, about seven feet tall when on its two legs, with huge teeth protruding from its mouth, and a large, salivating face . Matt was about to fire his weapon when the bear swung out a large paw and knocked it away. Swinging out another large paw, it clipped Matt and sent him sprawling into a crumpled heap on the forest floor. He dazedly tried to get to his feet, but collapsed again. Vaguely he saw Doc rush up beside him. The bear advanced threatingly. Doc let out a low, menacing growl. The bear stopped short. It knew something was wrong with this small animal, and had an instinct to get away, but after comparing the dog and himself, decided he had the size advantage, and continued on. Doc walked forward a step, then paused. His shackles rose, and his face grew longer. A series of razor sharp teeth shot out of his mouth, and his eyes turned into blood red orbs of evil. His ears shot up, and became stiff and rigid. Just as this metamorphosis was taking place on his head, his body was changing as well. Long, powerful legs grew out of his normal thin ones, and these sprouted long razor sharp claws. Sinew and tendons stood out as Doc grew in size and stature, and the muscles rippled underneath his smooth, glossy coat. He finally stopped increasing in size when he was about five foot tall, and about 2.5 foot across. He shook his head, then raised it to look at the grizzly. The grizzly knew this would be a hard fight, but knew it had the height advantage, so he leapt at Doc. Doc, at the same time, lowered his upper body at launched himself at the grizzly. Both met with a force that could have crushed bricks. They kicked, stabbed, bit, gouged and slashed at each other with amazing power. Doc had the upper hand however, and used his two paws with their claws to rip deeply into the grizzlies neck. It was a fatal wound. Blood shot out of the severed artery, and the grizzly slashed wildly at Doc. It raised itself up, then giving a final death cry plunged to the forest floor, crashing into the sticks and leaves that made it up. Doc turned away, and slowly limped back to Matt.

Matt, at this time, had mainly recovered and saw from the size of Docs wounds that he would probably die. Doc sat patiently alongside him however, licking his wounds and applying a heavy coat of saliva onto them. Matt watched as a miracle took place, and the deep gouging wounds on Docs leg began to come together, healing themselves. The same transformation was taking place everywhere on all of Docs wounds, and the blood from the grizzly started to disappear as well.

Matt got up, and walked slowly over to where the Colt had landed. He slowly picked it up, and walked over to Doc. Doc sat oblivious, still licking his nearly healed war wounds. Matt knew what he had to do. Doc was the beast. His ability to transform in size was how he escaped from his fathers lab, through the small window. He had cruelly slaughtered all those people, killing them in a horrific fashion. He had to be killed. After all, Matt had sworn that his father had started it, he would finish it. He had to shoot Doc. But how could he? Doc had saved his life! Without Doc, he would probably have been devoured by now. It wasn’t Docs fault he had been engineered to kill. Killing Doc would be like killing a friend. It didn’t matter, Matt reasoned to himself. He would probably still kill a friend if he was a prolific serial killer. He raised the gun, and levelled it at Docs head.
“Goodbye, Doc. I’m sorry.”
The bang echoed throughout the forest, and a group of crows took to flight from the treetops.
Matt dropped the gun, as Doc collapsed in a lifeless heap.

In a small clearing, a small dog surveyed the scene. She had been following her mate, the mongrel the human called Doc. She had watched him die. Turning away from the devastation, she walked cumbrously along the path, owing to the large bump on her stomach. She had to find a place that was sheltered. She would be having her pups soon.

I read it. Not bad I say. Like everything it's been left open for a sequel. Bit of a cliche with the crows but nearly everything has been done now so it's hard to get original ideas for a few scenes like that, I know I'd struggle.

My eyes hurt to much to read all that, sorry mate, maybe another day.

But in all honesty it is just amazing the way the words follow each other and the way every sentence ends in a full stop, just magical.
