Can someone look at my router stats to see if anything is wrong and tell me what info can be gleaned from the various numbers. I was upgraded to max from Freeola exactly a month ago and in all that time I have had about one week of decent speeds the rest of the time its been around the 113 - 120kbps mark with my profile at 135 kbps. Now I have made sure my ring wire is disconnected, (there are only two wires connected out of the four), I am plugged into the master test socket, (having taken off the faceplate), no extensions and have changed filters, I have used one filter with the router plugged into it and a second filter plugged into the first with the phone plugged into that. I do have a fairly long line from pole to house. I am 2.54 kilometers, crow flies, from my exchange (Manchester East) Router is a Netgear DG834 v1, I do have a cordless phone with the base unit about 3 feet from the master socket. Stats are:

Connection Speed Down 2816 kbps (did a resyc) / Up 448 kbps
Line Attenuation Down 54 db / Up 15.5db
Noise margin Down 15db / Up 18db

I have been told by Freeola that interleaving has been switched on and my
margin was raised now this resulted in the one week of decent speeds. However my noise margin keeps of varying from 18db down to negative figures especially at night. Thats about all the info I can give, any suggestions, ideas anything! Thanks

ps Freeola are being a little slow in getting back to me regardless of the Easter period!!

My router stays synched and is stable for a few days at this low speed but within a few hours of my profile being raised it crashs again because the router loses synch. The increase that I had at 14:00 did not last long by 14:30 I was back to square one and because of BT's profiling I bet it wont improve for another thre days. I have had max for one month and in all that time I have had one week of decent speeds. I am getting a new router and filter this week just to rule that out. If it dosent improve then I think a new ISP might do the trick although I would rather stay wher I am

Hi AdNoctum,

As of today about an hour ago (14:00) your connection has set itself to be running at around the 1MB mark. I can see you have had quite a few connections in the last few days, all being pretty short and quite random, this will not be helping your connection speeds at all.

Have you noticed your connection dropping out at all during the day?
