Well there as to be a downside somewhere:
Lack of privacy from the press even on holiday but that comes with courting the press for all the good publicity they will give you (they say theres no such thing as bad publicity- see David Beckham his wife always seems to let "slip" somee embarassing personal thing and he seems to get through it in the end but this just fuels the publics awareness of him and partially ensures that he is never far away from the public eye)
Fans!
Whilst lineing your pockets with cash by watching your film/buying your cd/getting a replica kit withyour name on it, fans have a darker side to them. Some will follow your around the country or the world just to be close to their idol, some believe that the object of their obsession are the character they play in films or on tv, fans when meeting the person will ask stupid questions about their character or some event way in the past. Or at what point does it become annoying for someone to repeat a catchphrase to you?
Ok so some of the above are not exactly crimes apart from the stalking one,
but have you stopped to think does Justin Timberlake get hate mail from obsessed Britney fans or does she get hatemail from his fans.
I suspect most stars get their fan mail screened for the more dodgier letters like the guy in america who broke into Britneys newly built house and photographed himself naked in the bath and sent it to her (I heard that somewhere).
So is the money really worth all the fake nude websites, the hate mail, the stalkers.
SOme might say if they have lots of money they can hire security, go on holiday to more private destinations to avoid all the "unwanted " attentions, but then wouldn't this be taking away their freedom to some extent, and imagine how the partners of these stars feel when big front page stories of kiss and tell or some old nude photos turn up of their famous partner. I don't suppose that the members of hearsay or their friends and family appreciated the constant press intrusions or the hatemail to their boyfriends/girlfriends.
The question is would you put up with all this for some quick cash and the possibility that you will end up on one of those one hit wonder programmes or after they were famous, or would you risk it all for that movie role or recording contract.......................?
