McDonaldís provide a service - all their food comes in pre-packed and frozen, so itís all prepared at the actual ìrestaurantsî, behind those fake brick walls, but itís nothing special. Burgers ñ ëBig Macísî, chicken nuggets, fries and so on, you can get soft drinks here, from a range of iced out coke, making it tasteless, flat orangeade drinks and sprite and chicken fat infested milk shakes, itís a greased out haven for junk food maniacs, itís not my cup of tea at all.
I have eaten at McDonalds, and I didnít get food poisoning, which is always a good sign, but the burger was lop sided, the accompanying ëgarnishí consisting of two slices of pickled cucumber/dills, and the roll was soggy. Not hot at all, and really a waste of money. As for the fries ñ hereís something you may not know, but have you ever wondered why the fries packet always seem to be half full when you buy it? Fairly obviously the staff donít put as many fries in as they should, through methods of squeezing the packets or just being blatant. Complain and youíll be thrown out and stared at by a heard of over-fat families relishing in their chosen place of eating. Not that everyone eating here are fat, just there seems to be a high proportion.
Pricing. Right. Why does a half full packet of dry fries cost from 90pence, surely thereíre no more than two average sized potatoes in there. But then you pay this at most places, but from a fish and chop shop you usually get larger, fuller flavoured chips, not twig thin crisped out fat sticks. The burgers cost from around 60p to £1.50, and there are usually a range of special products being sold ñ whether theyíre claiming to be promoting an Italian range, a Mexican range or a Chinese range ñ itís usually just a piece of spicy chicken with salad enwrapped in what may as well be cardboard. Theyíre promotions are very ëfakeí, in my opinion.
But itís all about the kids! How many times have you seen a child or two pleading, or threatening their parents to get a McDonaldís ìPlease can we go to McDonaldís Mum! Iíll hate you if we donít! Dad? Can we go?î ñ that sound familiar? Whenever your within a 50metre radius of the dreaded grease infested hungry people magnet, you tend to hear those annoying and bewildering pleas to be taken to McDonaldís for a meal out. Wonderful. The drinks are just the biggest rip-offs though, if you want something that resembles what you remember it to taste like then tell the staff member that you donít want ice.
Why are they so popular then? Are the customers more intelligent than the staff and so flock back there to feel good about their cleverness? Not that all McDonaldís staff have a low IQ, but I have met some very dopey people, working here, but letís face it, the job cannot be overly mentally demanding, staff quit all the time because they hate the boring work and rates of pay, but anyway, McDonaldís is popular, there is a range of ëfoodí, non of which can be described as exquisite or impressive, because it isnít, but when you compare them to burger king, their prices seem a lot more reasonable.
The competition may well include Burger King, but McDonalds rule the market, itís far more popular than BK, and the atmosphere is a little more vibrant in their than the other imported fast food chain, but I would strongly recommend going to Pizza Hut instead of McDonaldís, it may take more time, but the All You Can Eat deal on weekday lunchtimes will be under £5 and almost instant, with far nicer tasting food and itís a lot healthier too.
Why is it that McDonaldís in the United States give 10% of their profits to the IRS*? I doubt it goes directly to them, but surely this cannot be a good thing!!!
I HATE THEM!! :D
VOODOO MAN
MCd does sell unhealthy food, but it does taste nice. Im sorry, but the mcflurry and bacon double are delicious.
As for prices, the food is overpriced for its low quality, but it is comparativly cheap. Each Mcd meal has 3 times the daily requirement of fat in it. So if u were a homeless guy, it is very useful.
Hopefully prices of the food will fall anyway. 2 cheesburgers for 99p (50p each) sounds damn good to me!
I'll go down their as soon as my liposuction is done....
SLLLLLLLUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRPPPPPPPPPP
ah god the pain!!!!!!!!!!!!
